Preparation And Mechanical Properties Of C_f/SiC-ZrC Corrugated Lattice Core Sandwich Structure

Abstract/Summary:
In order to meet the demands of lightweight,heat insulation and high strength for materials or structure in aeronautical and aerospace fields,the Cf/SiC-ZrC corrugated lattice core composites sandwich panel was presented.The mechanical properties of Cf/SiC-ZrC corrugated lattice core composites sandwich structure at room temperature and after oxidation were investigated.The oxidation resistance mechanism of Cf/SiC-ZrC corrugated lattice core composites sandwich structure was analyzed.First,in order to determine the best percentage of ZrC in PCS impregnating solution,three kinds of impregnating solution were prepared and the ZrC content were 3%,6%and 9%,respectively.The three kinds of Cf/SiC-ZrC composite plates were fabricated.PIP combining with mould press method was used to prepare Cf/SiC-ZrC corrugated lattice core composites sandwich structure.Then,the sandwich plates with different content of ZrC were tested.The mechanical properties of Cf/SiC-ZrC corrugated lattice core composites sandwich structure at room temperature and after oxidation were investigated.It is found that the mechanical properties of lattice structure decreased after 1200℃and1600℃oxidation.However,the Cf/SiC-ZrC corrugated lattice core composites sandwich structure exhibited higher compression strength after 1600℃than after1200℃.It is also found that the mechanical properties of oxidized Cf/SiC-ZrC corrugated lattice core composites sandwich structure are better than the oxidized Cf/SiC lattice core composites.Final,surface morphology observation,XRD phase analysis,IR spectrum analysis,Raman spectrum analysis and X ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis were used to investigate Cf/SiC-ZrC corrugated lattice core composites sandwich structure before and after oxidation.It is found that Cf/SiC-ZrC composite sandwich structures perform better mechanical properties after 1600℃oxidation.This because the formation of SiO2 and ZrO2 glass phase and it filled the pore of the specimen and prevented the oxygen to get inside the material.Thus the oxidation resistance of the materials were improved.
