The demand for Metal Forming machine is higher than before in modern manufacturing industry,forging equipments have trend of heavy-loading,high efficiency,precision.Due to wide application in the forging industry,mechanical press becomes hot research topic at home and abroad.This paper is mainly about design and analysis of a new type of mechanical press driven by multiple motors.The new press adopts redundancy technology,which can realize synchronous drives with three motors.General mechanical press usually has single driving-source,the output pressure is limited,the new type of mechanical press is driven by multiply motors to achieve heavy-load output,redundancy technology applied to the press can also reduce the requirements of motor control precision.Specific research contents and innovations are as follows:1)Analysis of Kinematic performance.Vector method is used to establish kinematic equation of 3-PRS parallel mechanism,the jacobian matrixes of velocity and acceleration are obtained by derivation method.Then,the velocity and acceleration curves are mapped to analyze the work characteristic of the new mechanical press by using Matlab software.2)Error modeling and analysis.this paper provides error model of this new mechanical press established by using matrix differential method.a revolute pair and a hook hinge take place of the spherical hinge during the error modeling.And example calculation is taken to analyze impact on the output precision due to driving errors and structure errors of mechanical press.3)A new method of dynamics modeling is presented based on the dependent generalized coordinates.First,combining the dependent generalized coordinates and virtual work principle,the dynamics model is obtained,which can make jacobian matrixes of press components easier than before,the driving forces of un-loaded and loaded are calculated using Matlab software.Then,3D model of the new mechanical press is imported into professional dynamics simulation software ADAMS to verify the correctness of the theoretical model,inner forces of spherical hinges in the movement process are also provided.4)Modal analysis of mechanical press.ANSYS Workbench 12 is used for the modal analysis of mechanical press driven by multiply motors.Material properties and contact types are define,after meshing the prototype,the first six natural frequencies and the corresponding natural mode of vibration are obtained,which can be used to analyze the response under alternating load.3-PRS Parallel mechanism is applied on the research of mechanism press in this paper,which provides new aspect of mechanical press research compared to traditional press.The above research on the design and analysis of this new press based on parallel technology provides the basic theory and guidance method.
