Under the nation's great attention to railway system,the railway system achieve a rapid development in recent years,especially in the field of the high-speed rail technology and Electric Multiple Units(EMU)quantity.Thus the higher requirements for the safety and stability of the monitoring system are highly raised.What's more the "7.23" Yong Wen serious railway accident investigation shows that irrational designs of the railway monitoring system is one of the most important reasons for that accident.However,at present the achievement of the environmental factors(temperature,humid,water intrusion,UPS,smoke,fire,infrared intrusion,glass broken,air conditioning,lighting,access control,HD video etc.)of the Railway Electricity Department's(RED)machinery rooms mainly depends on these dispersed monitoring systems which are very single in function and hard to use.Meanwhile,the separation and lacking of interaction with each other of these systems make it very hard to co-work efficiently with each other.So it is very necessary to design and implement a distributed environment monitoring system which offers real-time monitoring and controlling for the Railway Electricity Department's(RED).After deeply studying the functional requirements and the existing wired network topology of the distributed environment monitoring system,a three layer system architecture which is combines by terminal system,server system and station system is designed.Meanwhile a publisher-subscriber mode is raised.Finally it makes out a test system,and now the station system works on DuoLuoKo and Xin Yang railway station and the terminal system runs in the Wuhan Railway Bureau and Wuhan Electricity department.The distributed monitoring system has changed the traditional work process of the Railway Electricity Department.It is very convenient to check the real-time factors and videos of the machinery rooms under the system's control through the terminal software.Meanwhile it offers an access for remote control of the air conditioning,access and light which is in the machinery rooms miles away.Thus it provides technical support for the modernization of the railway management and meets the development needs of the modern railway scheduling system.
