At present,basalt is widely used in coarse aggregate of asphalt highway pavement's surface layer in China,but unfortunately,basalt is distributed dispersedly in our country and its quantity is limited as well.With the rapid increase of China's highway mileage,thousands of millions tons of basalt is consumed every year.As a result,the construction cost of the highway increases with the rapid reducing in basalt.Limestone is widely distributed in various regions of our country and its quantity is very large.Therefore,it is meaningful to study on technology of the limestone when using to pave the surface layer of asphalt highway.In this paper,with the real project and the wet grinder wheel accelerating polishing equipment developed by the author,the decay degree of limestone asphalt mixture is studied and the key quality indicators of limestone are proposed.Firstly,through the analysis of antiskid mechanism of the asphalt pavement,and by drawing on existing domestic and international accelerating polishing equipment,the author develops a wet grinder wheel accelerating equipment based on the wet wheel abrasion tester,and abrasion test is conducted by the device.And then,the effects of different amounts of sand and water on the asphalt pavement's antiskid performance are analyzed respectively,and grading factors and load factors on asphalt pavement antiskid performance are tested.Secondly,by repeated testing,physical and mechanical properties of indicators Anxin basalt,three other lime stones are obtained.With the reference to other researchers' physical and mechanical properties of them,each properties and the correlation between the indicators are analyzed.Thus,the indicators of limestone as the surface layer of asphalt highway are proposed.Finally,with the test data of the antiskid performance of Anxin highway surface layer from 2010 to 2014,the decay degree of its skid resistance of this highway is studied.The author does comparative analyses to its antiskid performance in the same lane pavement with different lithology and in different lane pavement.
