Research On Landscape Architecture Space Design Strategies Based On Fractal Geometry

Fractal Theory had been introduced in last century,which it's characteristics of self-similar,nesting and iteration permeated every aspects of nature science and social science.As a subject which describes the geometry of nature,fractal geometry reflects the growing logic and skin texture of nature.At the meantime,the development of Landscape Architecture still stays at the formal layer instead of seeking out the architectural meaning and space law behind it.Through introducing Fractal Geometry to architecture,we can break the boundary between architecture and nature and also find sorts of adaptive methods to form Landscape Architecture,which is a new direction for architecture creation and has a positive meaning on the development of Architecture,Landscape and even Urban Design.The dissertation expounds the tectonic law of fractal geometry through researching its theory background and development process,then explores the fractal sprout,continuation and contemporary practice in architecture by fractal translation of architecture theory.Meanwhile,the research analyzes the development of Landscape Architecture via Land Art and Fields Conditions,which are the theory sources of Landscape Architecture and puts forward two kinds of construct vocabulary which are “homogeneous growth” and “spontaneous growth”.Finally,the essay discusses the fractal significance of landscape practice,which is an important part of architectural ontology from the cognitive perspective,finds out the similarities between landscape phenomenological spirit and non systematology of fractal from the method perspective,considers the transition from “fractal select” to “landscape transform” from the angle of architectural typology and reflects on the conversion of space image from “fractal conception” to “landscape expression” with the view of art.To sum up,the purpose of this work is to seek out the possibility of landscape architecture space design based on fractal theory through summarizing the internal relation between fractal and landscape.The article adopts the method of case study to analyze logic behind form and landscape practice strategies and find out the springboard of landscape space creation based on fractal which is space prototype.By means of strict fractal growth,adaptive spontaneous growth and soft mimesis growth,we can generate landscape architecture space based on fractal theory.“Prototype growth”,“Self growth” and “Mimesis growth” are the three design skills of the research subject.The author also hopes this study can become a sort of guiding strategy through some simple prototype practice,which can be used as a reference for landscape space design.
