With the increasing of the power grid scale and the continuous improvement of modern industrial automation level, the load types are more and more diverse.Increasing proportion of sensitive load makes the power quality problem get more and more people's attention. In recent years,The voltage sag was found as a kind of power quality problem and produced a great impact on all kinds of sensitive load. Therefore, how to guarantee the observability of the whole system has important practical significance.Due to the power quality monitors were installed at each node in the large power system will lead to significant economic cost increase and also lead to difficulty of information processing caused by mass data. The purpose of this paper is that any position voltage sags in the whole system are observable, and at the same time, the installation numbers of monitoring equipment are minimum, which in order to reduce the cost of the electricity sector, and realize the power system voltage sag monitoring points optimization configuration.Voltage sag is mainly caused by short circuit faults of the system, firstly, according to the different type of faults, this paper constructs different voltage sags observability matrix. The objective is the installing numbers of the voltage sag monitoring device minimum, and the constraint is the voltage sags in the system fully observable. And then a mathematical model for the comprehensive monitoring of voltage sag of the whole system is built. Finally, the particle swarm optimization algorithm is used to solve the mathematical model, and determine the final configuration. After that, this paper applies the IEEE-39 node system to verify the effectiveness of the program.
