Zisha pottery is a ceramic product that integrates ornamental,artistic and practicality.It has always been loved by people.With the long-term exploitation of Yixing Zisha mineral raw materials,the resource reserves face huge challenges.In order to find new purple sand mineral raw materials,some clay minerals used in the production of ceramic products in Rongxian were selected,and the composition and structure of local mineral raw materials were characterized by modern analysis methods?XRD,XRF,rock thin slice analysis,SEM,etc.?.The difference in composition structure between clay minerals and Yixing purple sand,to determine whether the local mineral raw materials can be used as a substitute for purple sand,and to test the ceramic performance of some raw materials.Through systematic testing and analysis,the following research results have been obtained:?1?The main chemical components of clay minerals in Gaoshan town of Rongxian county are SiO2,Al2O3,Fe2O3 and K2O,the sum of which is more than97.16%.The main mineral components are quartz,kaolinite,illite and hematite.The raw ore is massive or dense,with silty argillaceous structure.It is mainly composed of clay minerals and massive and granular debris.The quartz is evenly distributed.Under the scanning electron microscope,the clay minerals are irregular flake,petal shaped and book leaf shaped.?2?The main chemical components of clay minerals in Liujia town of Rongxian county are SiO2,Al2O3,Fe2O3 and K2O,the sum of which is 96.54%.The main mineral components are quartz,kaolinite,illite and hematite.Except for some horizon samples,the rest of the ore are in block or dense block,with silt argillaceous structure,mainly composed of clay minerals and massive and granular debris.The quartz distribution is relatively uniform.Under the scanning electron microscope,the clay minerals are irregular flakes.?3?The main chemical components of clay minerals in Dujia town of Rongxian county are SiO2,Al2O3,Fe2O3 and K2O,the sum of which is 96.77%.The mineral composition is quartz,kaolinite,illite and hematite.Except for a few samples,the ore is massive or dense,with silty argillaceous structure.It is mainly composed of clay minerals and massive and granular debris.Quartz is distributed evenly.Under scanning electron microscope,clay minerals are irregular sheet,petal and book leaf.?4?Most of the clay mineral raw materials in Rongxian county have similar chemical composition and structure structure with Yixing purple sand.Judging from the mineral composition and structure,Rongxian mineral raw materials may become the alternative raw materials of Yixing purple sand.?5?After firing,the clay minerals in the samples melted,and the main mineral composition changed into quartz,mullite and hematite.During the sintering process,the dehydration peak of minerals is close to each other,the shrinkage rate increases with the increase of temperature,and the color after sintering deepens with the increase of temperature.
