Organic pollutants are an important composition of indoor air pollutants, which cover different classes of compounds in a wide concentration range;Identification of unknown primary and secodary organic pollutants is a key factor to reveal mechanism of indoor chemical reactions and to better understand resulting health effect. In this study, secondary electrospray ionization high-resolution mass spectrometry(SESI-HRMS)was introduced for the first time to study chemical composition of cooking fumes and skin lipid ozone reaction.(1)For cooking fumes study, more than 657 ions were found from peanut oil cooking emissions. These ions were further clustered into six groups, showing characteristic intensity-time series individually.14 homologous series of CHO compounds were distinguished, mainly of which are fatty acids and their oxidation products.(2)For skin lipid and ozone(O3)reaction study, more than 100 ions resulted from O3 reaction products and 10 compounds were identified including seven known compounds such as geranyl acetone,6-methyl-5-hepten-2-one,etc.,and three new products. This study has proved the great potential of SESI-HRMS in indoor chemistry research by providing unparallel data obtained by real-time capturing the change in chemical variation during indoor chemical reactions.
