For the preparation of Al-P master alloy and the refinement of AlP particles,this paper develops two new technologies for preparing Al-P master alloy.One is to prepare Al-P master alloy particles by the method of rain dripping and oil quenching,and then the aging treatment is carried out;the other is to prepare Al-P master alloy power by atomization.Use the prepared Al-P alloy to modify the Al-20wt% Si alloy and check its modification effect.The size of the Al-P master alloy prepared by the method of rain dripping and oil quenching is about 10 mm,which is cake-shaped,the content of P is about 1wt%,and the average size of AlP in the solidified microstructure is about 8.59?m.The Al-P master alloy powder prepared by the atomization method has a P content of about 1.18wt%?1.65wt%,and the average size of AlP in the solidified microstructure is about 1.41?m.It is found that the ?-Al matrix in Al-P master alloy prepared by rapid solidification method is supersaturated solid solution.P atoms dissolved in ?-Al matrix can be precipitated by aging treatment to form three different forms of AlP,which are cyclic AlP,elongated AlP and granular AlP.The Al-20wt%Si alloy was modified at 800?.When the cooling rate was 22.6K/s,under the modification of the as-cast Al-P alloy,aging Al-P alloy and Al-P alloy powder,the primary silicon was refined to 15.36?m,10.28?m and 13.62?m,respectively,with refination of 43.24%?62.01% and 49.67%,respectively.Taking the refinement effect of primary silicon as the standard,the best technology for preparing the Al-P master alloy is rain dripping and oil quenching method and aging treatment.The best technology is as follows: under the protection of argon,the aluminum and aluminum phosphide tablets are heated to over 1700? for 3min,the Al-P master alloy with a size of 10 mm are prepared by the method of,rain dripping and oil quenching,and then the alloy are aged with the process of 150? for 2 hours.
