Controlling non-point source pollution in industrial parks is the key to solve the increasingly prominent water environment problems in Tianjin Binhai New Area and to maintain the water ecological security in the surrounding sea areas. In order to alleviate the increasingly prominent contradiction between the deterioration of ecological environment and sustainable economic development in the region, this paper takes the following as the research object:the typical runoff water quality and quantity of five rains during the water abundance period of the Phase 1 Construction of the Lingang Industrial Park at Binhai New District in Tianjin City, and conducts a preliminary discussion on three aspects, including the degree of runoff pollution on the typical underlying surface, pollutant transport characteristics and source analysis of the industrial park, with a view to providing scientific guidance for runoff pollution control in industrial park. The main research results are as follows:?1?Among the runoff pollutants of Tianjin Lingang Industrial Park, the event mean concentrations?EMCs?of chemical oxygen demand?COD?,ammonia nitrogen?NH3-N?and total nitrogen?TN?are prominent in the roof runoff rainwater. The contents of COD(EMCs=170.68 mg·L-1),NH3-N(EMCs=14.49 mg·L-1)and TN(EMCs=29.66 mg·L-1)are 1.4 times,3.33 times and 1.64 times the EMCs in surface runoff rainwater, respectively. The contents of soluble reactive phosphorus?SRP?(EMCs=1.87 mg·L-1)and total suspended solids?TSS?(EMCs=163.18 mg·L-1)in surface runoff rainwater are2.26 times and 2.87 times those in roof runoff rainwater, respectively. The content of TP(EMCs=1.43 mg·L-1)in roof runoff rainwater is equivalent to that in surface runoff rainwater.Seven toxic heavy metal pollutants are relatively not prominent, equivalent to those in main urban area of Tianjin, and four prominent soluble elements including chromium?Cr?,zinc?Zn?,copper?Cu?and arsenic? As?still constitute potential ecological and environmental hazards in surface runoff pollution in Lingang Industrial Park.?2?A quantitative analysis of the runoff pollutant transport process on different underlying surfaces is conducted based on the mass first flush(MFF)ratio and flush intensity coefficient b.The results show that the MFF effect is more likely to occur in the first 20%of the cumulative runoff. There is a 75%probability?b<1.025?that the MFFF phenomenon will occur, and the rainfall intensity and the cumulative pollution load on underlying surface have a greater influence on the transport of rainfall runoff pollutants.?3?Combined with the analysis of pollutant sources,it can be concluded that source control, process cleaning and initial rainwater interception are effective ways to mitigate the current runoff pollution in industrial park.
