In recent years, petroleum based polymer materials have been widely used in packing materials, medical materials, and building materials due to their excellent performances. However, apart from the great convenience brought by petroleum based polymer materials, the unrecoverable damages to the ecological environment should be also worthy of attention, such as the depletion of non-renewable petroleum resources and environment pollution problems caused by waste plastics. Therefore, the development of degradable materials under natural condition to meet the requirements of society is significantly important. The kind of biodegradable materials are not only good for petroleum resources conservation but also in favor of avoiding white pollution, demonstrating promising prospects. In this paper,we fabricated ramie fabrics(RF)reinforced poly(butylene succinate)(PBS)biodegradable composites through lamination method. The preparing conditions were optimized and the mechanical properties, thermal properties and biodegradability of composites were studied. The specific research contents and results are as follows:(1)The enhancement mechanism of the composites was also explored by means of the morphological observation and the rheologic characteristics. The results indicate that KH550 enhances the interfacial bonding force between RF and PBS,improving the mechanic performances of RF/PBS composites. When the RF content is 50 wt%,the mechanical performances of RF/PBS composite are the best after hot pressing at 150 ? for 20 min.The tensile strength, elongation at break, flexural strength, flexural modulus, interlaminar shear strength(ILSS)and impact strength reach to 72.4 MPa,19.4%,100.5 MPa,4.9 GPa,3.3 MPa and 67.5 KJ/m~2,respectively.In addition, degradation tests demonstrate that the introduction of RF accelerates the degradation process of RF/PBS composites.(2)Inspired by wet paper-making technology, the melt-blown PBS fiber/WP fiber aqueous dispersion with different WP contents were made into WP/PBS composites by filtration, drying, and hot pressing. Also, the structure and performances of WP/PBS composites were characterized. The results indicate that KH570 is the best choice to improve the interfacial bonding force between WP and PBS.When the WP content is 60 wt%,the mechanic performances of WP/PBS composite are the best after hot pressing at 150 ? for 20 min.The tensile strength, elongation at break, flexural strength, flexural modulus, interlaminar shear strength(ILSS)and impact strength reach to 65.79 MPa,9.56%,85.2 MPa,6.74 GPa,2.58 MPa and 33.8 KJ/m~2,respectively.In addition, enzymatic and soil degradation tests demonstrate that the introduction of WP fibers greatly improves the degradation ability of WP/PBS composites.Furthermore, the two kinds of composites exhibit good biodegradability, which enables them to be an ideal substitute for conventional non-degradable plastics.
