| In this paper, glycidyl methacrylate(GMA)was grafted onto Ethylene–propylene–diene monomer(EPDM)and polyolefin elastomer(POE)by melt grafting processes with styrene(St)as an auxiliary grafting monomer, and the effect of GMA content,DCP content, reaction temperature, reaction time, rotor speed and styrene content on the grafting degree was investigated, respectively. Then EPDM-g-(GMA-co-St)and POE-g-(GMA-co-St)synthesized with the best formula and process conditions were used as the compatibilizers of EPDM toughened PBT and POE toughened PBT,respectively. The effect of the amount of compatibilizer on the performance of PBT was studied. The result showed:(1)The grafting degree of EPDM-g-GMA increased obviously with the increase of the amount of monomer and initiator, reaction temperature, reaction time, rotor speed, and the amount of styrene.Styrene as an auxiliary grafting monomer could effectively improve the grafting degree of GMA.(2)The grafting degree of POE-g-GMA increased significantly with the increase of the amount of monomer and initiator, reaction temperature, reaction time, rotor speed, and amount of styrene.Styrene as an auxiliary grafting monomer could effectively improve the grafting degree of GMA.(3)The introduction of EPDM-g-(GMA-co-St)increased the notched impact strength and decreased the crystallization temperature of PBT/EPDM blends. The size of the dispersed phase in PBT blends was smaller and the difference of the glass transition temperature of two phases of PBT/EPDM blends decreased, the compatibility between PBT and EPDM increased.(4)The introduction of POE-g-(GMA-co-St)increased the notched impact strength of PBT/POE blend. The size of the dispersed phase in PBT blends was smaller and the difference of the glass transition temperature of two phases of PBT/POE blends decreased, the compatibility between PBT and POE increased. |
