The oil reservoir geologic profile is a map of geological phenomena with certain symbols, patterns, and colors, and a certain proportion, along a certain direction, indicating a certain distance,a certain depth underground, and generally shows stratigraphic stratification, faults, lithology, other stratigraphic structures and characteristics of rock properties. It intuitively expresses the structure of the strata and the sedimentary laws of the strata. It is the most intuitive and effective way to express the formation vertically, and it is also an important map to understand the undulating formations, stratigraphic distribution characteristics,oil-water relations, and physical properties of the reservoir.Due to the limitations of early conditions, the geological data of many old oil fields are incomplete or do not meet the requirements of the current development of technical means.Oil reservoir geologic profiles have mostly been drawn directly by hand or plotted as bitmap images(also known as raster images)using software.Although they can realistically show stratigraphic profiles, they have the disadvantages of large image data volume and lack of fidelity scaling. It is difficult Due Image vectorization is a process that converts a bitmap image such as oil reservoir geologic profile into a vector image. The essence of the vectorization is to convert image data into vector metadata so that the image can be processed more conveniently. And accurately express the position, length, and other information of spatial objects. Therefore, the realization of the vectorization of the geological profile of existing oil reservoirs is of great significance for the deep utilization of geological profiles.Based on the in-depth understanding of the image processing related technologies, this paper focuses on the method of image vectorization, which is aimed at the characteristics of oil reservoir geological profile and the deficiencies in vectorization.Firstly, color clustering segmentation was introduced to solve the problems of multiple lithologic symbols and inaccurate vectorization in geologic profile.Secondly, the Canny algorithm was improved.Gradient templates in three directions were used to find the gradient of the image, and gradient noise was eliminated. The adaptive method generates high and low thresholds to improve the adaptability of the algorithm. Then, when the Douglas-Peucker algorithm is adopted, the radial distance threshold is added to improve the accuracy of vectorization;finally,a vectorization and visualization prototype system of the reservoir geologic profile was implemented on the OpendTect open source platform. The system operation and experimental results show that this method is effective for vectorization of geologic profiles of complex reservoirs and can well meet practical application requirements, especially for the use of modern information technology to deeply analyze regional or local reservoir geological conditions of oil and gas resources. It lays the foundation for correctly guiding the development and utilization of reservoir resources and optimizing the production and management of oil and gas resources.
