Cold insulation of piping is necessary for LNG project in order to ensure the economy and safety of whole LNG project.The cost of insulation material goes up to 38%~67% in the total cost of cold insulation application of project approximately.Cellular glass is widely used as an insulation material in LNG project.Due to fragile characteristics of cellular glass,there is high loss rate in construction process.How to reduce the loss rate of insulation material for the cost has become the focus of the company.This paper is basic on the data in the cold insulation of YAMAL project,studies cellular glass typical cold insulation structure and construction technology,then analyses the reason of cellular glass loss rate.The research focuses on optimizing the loss of fabrication process of cellular glass among material loss based on Pareto principle.Inside diameter of section,section thickness and section angle turn out to be critical factors of material loss rate and Identify the relationship between these factors and the rate of loss after the study of cellular glass sections.This paper puts forward the design consideration that choses Simulated Annealing as the optimized algorithm of cellular glass loss research,including three optimization directions of insulation layers,section angle and fabrication arrangement under the constraints of pipe diameter,the total thickness of the insulation layers and the construction efficiency.The optimized solution can be used to guide the actual project,which builds MATLAB mathematical model,designs nested loop of Simulated Annealing with optimized parameters and minimize the loss of fabrication process of cellular glass.The YAMAL project application and study result shows that optimized result is about 5% lower than un-optimized of the material loss rate,and cost saving is 5 million approximately.It's a great progress in cost saving of insulation application,which benefits construction enterprise a lot.
