Phyllanthus emblica L.is a commonly used Chinese herbal medicine of both Tibetan and Indian nationalities in China, and is designated as a health plant for global promotion by the United Nations Health Organization.Yuganzi has many pharmacological effects, besides the most common antioxidant,hypoglycemic,hypotensive,anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities,it also has anti-atherosclerosis,anti-tumor,neuroprotection,anti-senile dementia and other effects.Fresh Phyllanthus emblica has a short shelf life and can only be preserved for about 10 days by freezing. It is easy to brown. Therefore, the study of drying process of Phyllanthus emblica is of great significance. At present, most of the dried emblica in the market are air-dried naturally, which has the disadvantages of low efficiency, easy moulding, low yield and uneven quality. Therefore, how to efficiently dry the emblica, ensure its efficacy and reduce the effect of drying methods on the active ingredients deserves further study. In this paper, different drying processes of fresh Phyllanthus emblica were studied, and the advantages and disadvantages of different drying processes were evaluated from TLC identification, water activity, rehydration rate, ash content, hardness, extract content, crude polysaccharide content, fingerprint of traditional Chinese medicine, quantitative analysis of four components and in vitro activity evaluation. The results showed that the quality of natural air dried Phyllanthus emblica was closely related to the climate, the quality batch difference was large, the drying rate was slow, the rehydration time was 299 min ~ 1119 min,the extract content was 35.54% ~ 59.15%,the chemical composition difference was large;the drying rate of hot air drying was fast, the rehydration time was 320 min ~ 499 min,but the hardness was increased, the content of extract was 43.06% ~ 51.67%,the crude polysaccharide content was 43.06% ~ 51.67% The content was 3.319mg/g ~ 6.567mg/g.Among them, the gallic acid content of Phyllanthus emblica dried by hot air at 50℃ and 60℃ was the highest, which was about 8.4mg/g,and the content of corilagin was the highest at 40 ℃,which was 4.397mg/g.The results showed that the hardness of freeze-dried Phyllanthus emblica pieces was low,the rehydration rate was significantly higher than other drying methods, the extract content was 69.85%,the crude polysaccharide content was 4.49 mg/g chlorogenic acid and rutin content were the highest, which were 2.973 mg/g and 1.728 mg/g,respectively.The results of in vitro activity test showed that: the scavenging rate of hydroxyl free radical was 80.048% ~ 89.497%,and the activity of a-amylase in vacuum freeze-dried Phyllanthus emblica reached 4.491 mg/g.
