Bisphenol A(BPA)is an endocrine disruptor.Even low concentration can cause various negative effects on human health and aquatic organisms.Therefore,it is urgent to find effective ways to remove BPA from wastewater.In this paper,AC/?Fe2O3 composite catalyst was prepared by mild formless solution reaction,which was used as a catalyst for the degradation of BPA by photo-Fenton reaction.The morphology and physicochemical properties of the catalysts were analyzed by XRD,SEM,FT-IR,DRS,BET and XPS.XRD and FT-IR results show that the ?-Fe2O3 crystal form is good;SEM showed that?-Fe2O3 uniformly distributed on the surface of activated carbon;UV/DRS results showed that the AC/?-Fe2O3 composite catalyst can effectively absorb ultraviolet and visible light to improve the catalytic efficiency and degradation rate.The results of BET show that the AC/?-Fe2O3 composite catalyst with high specific surface area(238.4533 cm3g-1)and the average pore size of 5.62609 nm,indicated that the material is mesoporous materials;XPS further demonstrated that Fe exists in the form of Fe2O3,and the content of ?-Fe2O3 is 33.35%.In this paper,the catalytic performance of the catalyst was investigated by degrading BPA from the wastwater.The effects of main parameters,such as pH value,H2O2 amount,catalyst dosage and reaction temperature on the catalytic reaction were discussed to find the best reaction conditions.The results showed that when the initial concentration of BPA was 30 mg/L,the optimum reaction conditions were pH=4,H2O2 concentration of 320 mg/L,the amount of catalyst used 1.33 g/L,the reaction temperature was 40?,under these conditions,the degradation rate of BPA reached 91.4%.At the same time,the stability and reutilization of the catalyst are studied in this paper.After repeated use of five times,the degradation rate of BPA can still reach 85.34%.The kinetics of BPA degradation by the photo-Fenton reaction under the active of AC/?-Fe2O3 composite catalyst was studied.The experimental process was in accordance with the pseudo first order kinetic equation.With the empirical model of power exponent,the kinetic model of this reaction is solved based on the data fitting of various experimental parameters:(?)(pH=2-4)(?)(pH=4-6)Through exploring the changes of HO· in the reaction process,we proposed the possible reaction mechanism of photo-Fenton reaction and a regeneration mechanism of activated carbon in the composite catalyst.
