The Recognition Of Mark Number And Its Application In Management System For Steel Warehouse

A mark number recognition system has been designed and developed in this thesis for the steel warehouse in Jiangsu Shagang Group.The successful implementation of this system realized the automatic identification and informatization management for steel products which improved the efficiency and automation level of steel warehouse.The operation procedure is analyzed and adjusted to programmable projects through the investigation and analysis of the original production process which formed the final scheme.The core of this scheme is to recognize the mark number of steel products automatically.Therefore,this thesis mainly studies character recognition technology that is applicable to steel products in the steel warehouse.For the recognition of mark number in steel plate,preprocessing-segmentationrecognition method is proposed.In this method,checkerboard calibration and harris corner detection are adapted to eliminate image distortion,then morphological processing and minimum bounding box are utilized for line tilt correction,then histogram bimodal method is used to binary image.After that,an improved algorithm based on vertical projection is devised for characters segmentation.Finally,the characters are recognized by well-trained LeNet-5 networks.For the recognition of mark number in steel bars,A method based on object detection technology is proposed.In this method,characters are detected and recognized directly as objects through well-trained SSD model.Currently,this system is running normally in workshops of Jiangsu Shagang Group and all the technical indicators can meet expectant requirements.
