Recently,the S-Zorb process is widely used home and abroad for clean gasoline production,but this process will produce a considerable amount of spent agent.How to deal with the spent S-Zorb agent is an important problem.Up to now,the research for dealing with the spent S-Zorb agent is relatively less,reactivation of related research has not been reported yet.This paper use the chemical method to reactivate the spent S-Zorb agent.This study firstly make sure the deactivation reasons of the S-Zorb agent,including carbon deposit,active component sulfuration,the blockage of the adsorbent channel and the strong interaction between active component and support,the last one of which is the main reason.On the basis of the reasons above,we investigate and optimize the reactivation parameters including the concentration of reagent,liquid-solid ratio,temperature and time using reactivator 1,and also by adding precipitant to improve the sulfur capacity.The results show that,reactivator 1 can reconstruct the zinc silicate to ZnO,reduce the particle size,improve the reducibility of Ni O,add the amount of Lewis acid,which can promote the initial desulfurization activity.Moreover,the pore-forming and pore-reaming effect of reactivator 1 can also improve the surface area,enhance the accessibility of the reactant and the active sites which have desulphurization and sulfur storage capacity.The desulfurization performance of the reactivated adsorbent shows that,it can decrease the sulfur content of the gasoline to 11.1 μg/g,which is superior to the fresh adsorbent.Using reactivator 1 to reactivate the spent S-Zorb agent is the result of joint action of many factors.It can lead to ZnO loss which guarantee the sulfur capacity.The method of acid and alkali coupling can increase the Zn content on the surface of the adsorbent,improving its sulfur capacity.In brief,the structure and the chemical composition of the spent S-Zorb agent can be changed radically by the reactivator,and the desulfurization performance of the adsorbent can also be improved.
