Puguang gas field has the biggest high-sulphur gas reservoir.It is crucial to monitor sulfur in plants in order to guarantee the ecological environmental safety in and around the gas field.At present,the common methods used domestically have several deficiencies(i.e.,wasting time,poor security and accuracy),which limit the benefits of environmental monitoring and cleaner production in Puguang gas field.Development of a new,efficient and safe technology for monitoring sulfur in plants fully reflects the contemporary demand in the high-sulphur gas field,having very important practical significance.The present work started with a contrastive analysis of different methods of monitoring sulfur in plants.The method of(oxygen flask combustion)-(ion chromatography)was selected and optimized and verified.A Sinopec A-level standard was therefore formed and popularized and applied in Puguang gas filed.The main results and discussion are listed as following:(Oxygen flask combustion)-(ion chromatography),which is simple,save time and have small operation error and low safety risk,was selected as the most suitable method for monitoring the sulfur in plants in Puguang gas field,after a contrastive analysis of five methods of monitoring sulfur in plants.(1)When hydrogen peroxide was selected to add in the adsorption liquid used in the pretreatment of(oxygen flask combustion)-(ion chromatography),the recovery rate was enhanced with 9%~`8%.The optimal values of flow rate and concentration for the samples used in ion chromatography were 1.2mL/min ? 13mmol/L,respectively.The room temperatures for testing should be same with that for preparing standard curves;if not,the new standard curves should be prepared.(2)The recovery rate is 91%~99% and the relative standard deviation range from 2.4% to 5.5,which means the optimized(Oxygen flask combustion)-(ion chromatography)has the excellent repeatability and reproducibility.(3)The results in this study have been successfully applied in Puguang gas field by enhancing the efficiency,accuracy and safety of monitoring sulfur in plants in Puguang gas field and supporting good decision making for scientific management and building green gas field.
