This research is from the Major Project of Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Support Plan——Green Design Technology and Application Research of Large-scale Five-axis High-speed Precision Gantry Machining Center(Approval No.BE2014004-3).The analytical solutions for temperature distribution in a infinite body,a semi-infinite body and a finite body due to constant strength,periodic-motion,heat sources are obtained.And the temperature solutions are applied to calculating the temperature field of a ball screw.The main research contents are as follows:(1)The temperature solutions subjected to constant strength,periodic-motion,point-heat sources,line-heat sources and plane-heat sources in a infinite body and a semi-infinite body with surface cooling are obtained.In addition,the dimensionless temperature solutions and its reduced controlling parameters are achieved,which represent periodic motion,convective boundary conditions and the difference between initial temperature and environment temperature.(2)The temperature field in the three following conditions are solved,which are close to engineering application.Firstly,the temperature solutions due to constant strength,periodic-motion,line-heat sources in a infinite thin plate with surface cooling are obtained;secondly,the temperature solutions due to constant strength,periodic-motion,plane-heat sources in a infinite thin rod with surface cooling are achieved;and lastly,the temperature solutions due to constant strength,periodic-motion,plane-heat sources in a finite thin rod with surface cooling are achieved.Besides,the dimensionless temperature solutions and its dimensionless controlling parameters are achieved,which represent periodic motion,surface cooling,initial position of moving heat source and the location of static heat source.(3)The solutions for temperature distribution in a finite-length thin rod due to constant strength,periodic-motion or static,plane-heat sources are obtained.And the temperature solutions are applied to calculating the temperature field of a ball screw based on the model of single heat source and multi-heat sources.The error of the two models is 0.5%,which means the two models are suitable for theoretical calculation.The error of surplus temperature in steady state between the model of single heat source and testing results is 14.1%,which is acceptable in engineering calculation.
