Since the first report of cationic acrylate emulsions in the 1950 s,after more than 70 years of development,its application fields have become more widespread.Compared with anionic or nonionic acrylate emulsions,cationic acrylate emulsions have excellent washing performance,antibacterial,antiseptic,antistatic and other excellent properties,and are widely used in textile printing and dyeing,sewage treatment,paint manufacturing,cosmetics and other industries.The conventional method for preparing a cationic polymer emulsion is to introduce a positive charge to the surface of the latex particles by using a cationic emulsifier such as a quaternary ammonium salt,a pyridinium salt or an imidazole salt,and an organic acid ammonium salt.Although the technique for producing cationic acrylate emulsions by this method is currently relatively mature,the emulsifier in the polymerization system adversely affects some properties of the polymer emulsion such as surface properties,electrochemical properties,optical properties,and water resistance.In this paper,a cationic acrylate soap-free emulsion was prepared by introducing a functional cationic monomer by soap-free emulsion polymerization technology,so that the polymer emulsion can not only possess the unique properties of the cationic acrylate emulsion,but also avoid the emulsifier to the polymer emulsion.Negative impact.The main research contents of this thesis include:(1)The paper used HEMA,IBOA,MMA,AAM,DMAEMA,APEG,DMC copolymerization to study the effects of various monomers on polymerization stability,emulsion stability and latex film properties.Finally,MMA,APEG and DMC were selected as main monomers,and V-50 was used as an initiator to prepare a cationic acrylate soap-free emulsion.(2)The effects of the amount of APEG and DMC on the polymerization stability,emulsion properties and polymer latex film properties were studied,and the optimum amount of each comonomer was determined.(3)Test the viscosity,stability,particle size,etc.of the prepared emulsion,and perform Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),thermogravimetry(TG),differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)on the polymer latex film.The results showed that the cationic acrylate soap-free emulsion with an average particle size of 500 nm,good stability and good coating properties was successfully prepared.
