As the preferred process of producing high-end rutile titanium dioxide,chlorination titanium dioxide has been more and more recognized and implemented by the industry,and its market share has been increasing in recent years.At present,the sponge titanium market has become saturated or even oversupplied.Only with the rapid development of the national economy,the titanium dioxide market will rise steadily in the long term.As the core technology of titanium dioxide chlorination process,gas phase oxidation furnace is the jewel on the crown of titanium dioxide industry.The mastery of oxidation furnace,supporting process and control technology is of decisive significance for mastering the production technology of high-end titanium dioxide.In this paper,the whole process of titanium chloride white production is realized,including four main processes: chlorination,refining,oxidation and public auxiliary.Because there is no successful reference to production experience,after nearly ten years of exploration,we have gradually mastered the characteristics of Panzhihua mine and the automatic control mode suitable for the operation of our plant based on the actual production experience on site.In the production process,the proportion of the charge of the chlorination furnace restricts the output and quality of the chlorination furnace.After years of production exploration,we have gradually mastered a set of automatic control scheme through PID closed-loop control.In the chlorination process,molten salt chlorination is used to produce coarse Ti Cl4 by reaction of high titanium slag,petroleum coke and chlorine gas in the chlorination furnace.Temperature control plays a key role in the synthesis of coarse titanium tetrachloride.The control of furnace temperature is very important in the production process.The furnace temperature determines the reaction efficiency and the output of coarse Ti Cl4.Through feedforward control calculation,the furnace temperature is corrected in time to ensure the quality of coarse Ti Cl4 is stable.In the refining process,aluminum powder,as a flammable and explosive product,needs to be strictly controlled.As an important raw material in the production process,a large amount of "white smoke"(Ti O2)is formed when the crude Ti Cl4 meets the air,which causes environmental accidents.Therefore,in refining production,reduce the impact of human operation on production.In this paper,most of the operations in refining LTC preparation and residue treatment are improved to automatic control based on DCS.In this paper,some modification schemes and implementation ideas will be emphasized.The control system of oxidation process is a difficulty in the production process of titanium dioxide chloride all over the world.In this control system debugging,the preparation of aluminum trichloride,the reaction control of oxidation furnace and the precise control of preheater are the key difficulties and important.After several years of debugging and production practice,the above work has played a major breakthrough and use.In 2018,it achieved production and efficiency,and the development of the control system for the production of chlorinated titanium dioxide has achieved great success,laying a solid foundation for the subsequent large-scale production of titanium chloride.
