Low-cost production has become one of the important measures for steel to gain profits.Against such a background,baotou steel introduced Mongolian ore with low price as the raw material for pellet production.As the proportion of Mongolian ore in pellet production increases,the sulfur content in Mongolian ore is higher,Moreover,sulfur is mainly in the form of pyrrhotite,and there is no effective measure to reduce sulfur in the existing production process,which further affects pellet quality and blast furnace production.In this paper,the influence of four factors on FeO content,desulfurization rate,reduction expansion rate and compressive strength of pellets was studied in the production of pellets from high-sulfur Mongolian ore.Finally,the control level of technological parameters of high-sulfur ore was obtained,and the quality index of pellet was optimized under the production conditions of high-sulfur ore.Finally realize the stable use of high-sulfur iron concentrate in pellet production,so as to solve iron material balance and reduce production cost.In the experimental study of the influence of four factors,such as roasting temperature,roasting time,bentonite ratio and preheating temperature,on FeO content,desulfurization rate,reduction expansion rate and compressive strength of pellets,Firstly,pelleting was carried out according to the four levels of bentonite ratio,and then the preheating roasting test was carried out according to the orthogonal table,with a total of 16 groups of tests.FeO content,desulfurization rate,reduction expansion rate,microstructure and mineral composition analysis and chemical composition analysis shall be conducted for each pellet sample of each constituent product.The microstructure and mineral composition of the reduced pellets were analyzed.The final experimental results determined that when the roasting temperature reached 1240?,the roasting time was 10 min,the proportion of bentonite was 2-4%,and the preheating temperature was 600?,it was the best technological control parameter for the production of high-sulfur Mongolian ore.
