Iron tailings is a kind of large-scale industrial solid waste which is difficult to be treated.It is of great significance to develop and utilize iron tailings for environmental protection and sustainable economic and social development.In this paper,iron tailings from iron ore tailings produced by the first cloud Mining Group in Miyun District of Beijing city in 2017 were prepared by stirring foaming gel casting and sintering under normal pressure.The influence of sintering temperature on the structure and properties of porous materials was studied.The performance of porous ceramic/xylitol composite phase change material was tested.The freeze resistance and thermal shock resistance of iron tailings porous ceramics used in building partition board were tested(1)Under the same stirring and foaming conditions,the gelcasting process of porous iron ceramic tailings is better than that of freeze-drying process.The molding time is shorter,the cost of the auxiliary agent is lower,and the porous ceramic body formed is easy to sinter.(2)The porous ceramics of iron tailings are mainly composed of quartz,augite,diopside,hematite and anorthite.They have complex pore structure.The pore size is between 100 m and 300 m.at the same time,there are many small holes in the hole wall,which make the pores connect with each other.(3)With the sintering temperature increasing from 1070℃ to 1100℃,the bulk density of brick iron tailings porous ceramics increased from 0.38 g/cm~3 to 0.48 g/cm~3,the apparent porosity decreased from 83.7%to 76.8%,and the compressive strength increased from 0.76 MPa to 3.23 MPa.(4)The porous ceramic/xylitol composite phase change material with iron tailings was successfully prepared by pressureless infiltration process.Compared with porous ceramic carrier,the compressive strength of the composite phase change material was nearly doubled.(5)Taking the existing building partition board product performance standards as reference,the iron tailings porous ceramics can meet the performance requirements of partition board products in terms of appearance quality,acid and alkali corrosion resistance,freezing resistance and thermal shock resistance,and has the application potential as building partition board.Using iron tailings as raw materials to prepare porous ceramics not only has simple process,low cost,but also can obtain large-scale products,and its performance can meet the requirements of building partition board products,and has broad application prospects.At the same time,the prepared porous ceramic/xylitol composite phase change material has a wide range of applications in solar energy utilization,industrial waste heat recovery and other fields.
