Polyacrylate latexs is a type of polymer material prepared by emulsion polymerization of acrylic monomers and methacrylic monomers.It has excellent film-forming properties,light resistance,and weather resistance.These advantages have made it widely used in water coatings,adhesives,medical polymer materials and so on.However,due to some shortcomings in its structure,it has disadvantages such as poor heat resistance and water resistance,which limits its further applications.Thus,study on its modification has been one of the hot topics in this field.At the same time,with the increase of people's awareness of environmental protection,the use of environmentally friendly non-toxic polymer materials has gradually become a pursuit of people.In this paper,the modification of polyacrylate latexes is mainly studied from two aspects to give better performance to acrylate latexes.One is modified monomer,the other is green emulsifier.Furthermore,one of the modified latexes is used to prepare coatings and the performance of the resultant coatings is studied.The main research contents of this article are as follows:In this work,methyl methacrylate(MMA)and butyl acrylate(BA)were used as main comonomers;stearyl acrylate(SA),lauryl acrylate(LA),hexadecyl acrylate(HA)long-chain monomer were selected respectively as a modified monomer;vinyl triethoxysilane(VTES),were choosed respectively as functional monomer;disodium laureth sulfosuccinate(AEMES),?-alkenyl sulfonate(?-AOS),sulfosuccinate ethoxyethanol monoester disodium salt anionic surfactant(A-102),surfactant alkyl polyglycoside(APG),isotridecyl polyoxyethylene ether(TO-9)were selected as mixed emulsifier;Five systems of the long carbon chain monomer modified polyacrylate latex were successfully prepared by semi-continuous seeded emulsion polymerization.The formulation and process conditions of the product were optimized,and the synthesized product was characterized.The effects of the mixed emulsifier,initiator and modified monomer on the properties of the latex were mainly discussed.The environmental long chain based polyacrylate latex containing fluorine and silicon,which were successfully synthesized with the mixed emulsifer of A-102 and TO-9,was used as the binder to prepare the environmental protection coating.The effects of PVC,thickener,and dispersant on coating performance were investigated and the experimental formula was optimized.
