The C-E bilingual book The Stories of the Chinese Seafood describes various seafood cultures of ten main coastal provinces,cities,and special administrative regions of China from the perspective of natural geography,historical origins,customs,etc.,thus giving it profound value and positive cultural significance.Against the background of Chinese culture "going global" and national strategy's emphasis on the ocean,I chose part of the book as the text of this translation practice report to find out suitable translation methods,providing experience for the translation of similar texts in the future.The report first introduces the translation project,and analyzes the characteristics of the source text.Then combining previous studies on translation of food culture and under the guidance of the cultural communication perspective and the principles of "three closeness of cultural communication",the report,through case studies,researches and summarizes translation methods and strategies suitable for this kind of text.This report applies the perspective of cultural communication and the principles of "three closeness of cultural communication" to seafood culture translation,which further expands the application scope of cultural communication,and also introduces the translation of seafood culture into the field of translation,trying to provide experience for later translation studies of such texts.
