3D printing technology,also known as additive manufacturing technology,has achieved rapid development in recent years.Selective Laser Melting(SLM)is a 3D printing technology with mature technology and wide application.It can produce parts with high density,good organization and excellent mechanical properties.SLM uses laser as a heat source to melt the powder material layer by layer,so theoretically it can produce parts of any shape according to the three-dimensional model.However,when manufacturing the overhang structure,the manufacturing quality of the overhang structure is poor,and the support structure is required to ensure the processing successful.At present,the lack of theoretical support for the design of the support structure with certain subjectivity and uncertainty,so the manufacturing quality of the suspended structure can't be guaranteed,and warping and other deformations often occur.At present,the support structures are all equal parameters.This paper researches the variable density honeycomb support structure which can design variable density according to the characteristics of suspended structures based on the characteristics of SLM process.It can ensure the success of the manufacturing process,and the change of structural parameters can change the inherent frequency of the part and provide technical means for the dynamic parameter design of the part.The main contents of this paper are as follow:1.Study the design and layout of variable density honeycomb structures.The parameters of several common honeycomb structures were analyzed.The relative density of the structures was compared under the constraints of SLM process,and the hexagonal honeycomb structure was determined as the research object.According to the characteristics of honeycomb structure,the variable density layout of honeycomb structure was designed.For the closed cavity formed by honeycomb structure,the powder outlet and the powder discharge channel were designed.2.Study the manufacturing properties of honeycomb structures.The honeycomb structure was fabricated to analyze the ability of SLM to fabricate honeycomb structures.The effects of support structure parameters on the mechanical properties and surface residual stress of the support structure were studied by mechanical properties tests and residual stress tests.The differences in mechanical properties and residual stress between the two structures were discussed by comparison.According to the research results,the variable density layout of the honeycomb support structure is obtained.3.Study the vibration characteristics of variable density honeycomb structures.The natural frequencies of honeycomb structures with different parameters were calculated by finite element analysis method.The effects of honeycomb structure parameters and variable density layout on the inherent frequency of the structure werestudied.4.Research the application of variable density honeycomb support structures.The paper puts forward the internal structure design method of parts based on 3D printing technology,analyzes the composition and performance characteristics of gear parts,and studies the application of variable density honeycomb structure on gear parts.The difference in performance of gear parts before and after design is analyzed,and the rationality of the design method is verified.
