Titanium alloys are widely used in the fields of aerospace,aircraft manufacturing and shipping because of their excellent physical,chemical and mechanical properties such as superplasticity,corrosion resistance and high temperature oxidation resistance.However,titanium alloys have always been regarded as difficult cutting materials because of their material characteristics,so how to effectively improve the cutting efficiency of titanium alloys has been a research focus of machining Due to the development of bionic tribology,it is found that the reasonable micro-texture on the cutting tool's front cutting surface can effectively reduce the contact area of the cutting chip,improve the friction at the cutting chip interface,and reduce the cutting force.In this paper,the influence of micro-texture on the cutting performance of titanium alloy was studied by improving the cutting performance of the tool.(1)The effects of different cutting parameters on cutting performance of cutting tools were studied.Non-texture using PCBN cutting tool for dry cutting of titanium alloy,analysis of the cutting parameters on cutting force and machined surface roughness,the influence of cutting parameters on cutting force influence biggest is back cutting depth,had the greatest influence on the finished work surface roughness is feeding rate,considering cutting force and surface roughness of workpiece choose the optimal cutting parameters.(2)The width of groove,the distance between groove and cutting edge and the distance between groove and cutting edge were selected as the texture factors,and the micro-texture PCBN tool dry cutting titanium alloy TC4 experiment was carried out by using finite element simulation software,using finite element simulation software of micro-texture PCBN cutting tools for dry cutting of titanium alloy TC4 experiment,micro texture analysis of different parameters on the influence of cutting force and cutting temperature,and according to the experimental results to further optimize the grooves texture,comparing experiment,found the optimized texture tool compared with non-texture tool can effectively reduce the cutting temperature and cutting force.(3)Using laser machining technology to complete grooves texture,finish cutting experiment using texture PCBN cutting tools,analysis different grooves texture in the actual cutting parameters on cutting force and machined surface roughness,the influence of groove spacing on the effects of main cutting force biggest,mainly is the groove spacing has a great influence on strength of tool rake face;The groove width has the greatest influence on the surface roughness of the machined workpiece,and the appropriate groove width will cause secondary "cutting" during cutting,which is conducive to improving the surface quality of the workpiece.According to the experimental results of cutting force,the parameters were optimized to obtain the new micro-texture tool,and the cutting contrast experiment was carried out.The experiment found that compared with the non-texture tool,the optimized texture tool could effectively reduce the cutting force,reduce the surface quality of the processed workpiece and reduce the tool wear.The purpose of this paper is to explore the cutting performance of micro-texture PCBN tool in cutting titanium alloy.The combination of simulation and experiment has proved that micro-texture technology can improve the cutting performance of PCBN tool.This paper provides an idea for optimizing the cutting performance of PCBN tool,provides a reference for improving the cutting efficiency of titanium alloy,and enriches the research of micro-texture technology.
