Affordance-based Application Of Bamboo Characteristics In Seat Design

China is rich in bamboo forest resources and has a long history of bamboo civilization.It is the country with the most abundant bamboo utilization in the world.At present,there are two main forms of bamboo utilization.One is to directly use bamboo to process into products,which is based on traditional techniques and assisted by certain modern technical means;the other is to use bamboo as raw materials;the latter 's industrial use of bamboo materials under “substituting bamboo for wood” dominates,which makes the application and research of raw bamboo mainly around the material design of raw bamboo.In this paper,bamboo seating products are used as the design carrier for analysis and research.At present,the bamboo seating products on the market are mainly based on the traditional bending process,and the homogenization is more serious.Of course,with the development of the design,some bamboo seats with distinctive original bamboo characteristics have appeared,but it largely depends on the designer's own cognitive experience of the original bamboo material characteristics,and the lack of related design theory or design process guidance.Under this background,the paper selects Affordance's concepts and design theories in design ecology as the basis of cognitive psychology,and explores the application of the original bamboo characteristics,through literature induction,theoretical research,and disciplines.Cross-research and other research methods are summarized in the design flow chart of Affordance in design ecology,and the Affordance of the original bamboo is obtained by combining the material characteristics of the original bamboo;at the same time,the bamboo seating products with original bamboo characteristics are analyzed and case studies,Extract the key design phenomena related to the characteristics of the original bamboo,and form a design process strategy based on the original bamboo characteristics of the original bamboo Affordance in the bamboo seat design,provide the corresponding theoretical application and design method guidance for the actual bamboo product design using the original bamboo characteristics.The design process strategy is applied to the bamboo stool for design practice and the design test shows that the process strategy diagram based on Affordance's original bamboo characteristics in the bamboo seat design can effectively assist the bamboo seat design,combining the original bamboo characteristics with the utility of the seat product.,and it can reasonably implement cross-disciplinary knowledge cross-application and meet the emotional cognition needs of people in the history of bamboo civilization,and make the design thinking and design steps of bamboo seats more logical,helping designers understand the basic characteristics of raw bamboo.At the same time,it provides a new way of design thinking for bamboo-related designs.
