Preparation And Functional Study Of Novel Zein Drug Carriers

In this work,zein was used as a drug carrier,which can promote cell growth and had good film-forming properties;Polyvinylpyrrolidone?PVP?as a dispersed phase,had good biocompatibility and hygroscopicity.Two phases were loaded with other active drugs to reduce the cytotoxicity of the active drugs themselves and enhance the antioxidant effects for human skin.First,nano-cerium oxide?Ce O₂?was directly synthesized by in-situ low-temperature sol-gel method?ISLT sol-gel method?.The nano-Ce O₂ prepared by this method had a controllable shape,a narrow particle size distribution as well as good dispersibility,so that Ce O₂ not only exhibited excellent ultraviolet blocking properties,but also achieved the release of cerium ions to exert excellent antioxidation at the cellular level.Secondly,we successfully used the sol-gel method to co-encapsulate 5-hydroxymethylfurfural?5-HMF?and eugenol within the zein films,which improved the stability of these above active drugs and enabled 5-HMF to be efficiently released in weak acid environment.In addition,eugenol was used to improve the hydrophilicity and antibacterial properties of drug-loaded composite films.More importantly,5-HMF and eugenol can work together to make zein drug-loaded films effectively relieve the oxidative damage of Ha Ca T cells induced by hydrogen peroxide.In short,we optimized the basic material properties of the above two drug-loaded films,and explored their antioxidant mechanism at the cellular level,which mainly refferred to reducing excess intracellular reactive oxygen species?ROS?,improving mitochondrial membrane potential,as well as affecting expression of proteins related.It is worth looking forward to above two drug-loaded zein films which have great application potential in the fields of coatings,food packaging,skin care and makeup.
