In recent years,steam oven has been a hot topic in the kitchen electrical appliance industry.With the development of steaming technology,the design of steam oven also presents a new trend.How to design the new steam oven products that meet the needs of users and market is the focus of the development strategy of kitchen electric appliance enterprises.The success of the development and design of new steam oven products is inseparable from the preliminary analysis to build a perfect product development phase.The primary concern in the early stage of product development is how to analyze and excavate the user's behavior and needs,deduce the design opportunity of the new steam oven product,and then gradually deepen into specific products.In order to successfully complete the process of user needs to design positioning,FBS structure model was applied and developed into NFBS model,and "Needs-Function" mapping was introduced to develop the research process from "Function-Behavior-Structure" to "Needs-Function-Behavior-Structure",and it was applied to the product design of steam oven.The specific process is to carry out user research through qualitative and quantitative analysis to obtain user needs,conduct "Needs-Function" mapping,function analysis,behavior analysis,and structure analysis,carry out appearance factor analysis based on the above analysis,and obtain design positioning and put forward corresponding design concepts.The main content of this paper is based on the study of the cooking style of steamed dishes of the new middle class,combining the theoretical method with empirical research,deducing the specific user needs from the user behavior,and gradually directing the demand set to the design positioning that could directly guide the design.Firstly,based on the research of relevant literature,the author analyzed the lifestyle,diet and cooking attitude of the new middle class,based on the literature research,conducted the initial questionnaire survey to study the current situation of the new middle class.Then,the user interview method and behavioral observation method were used to analyze the specific needs of the new middle class steamed dishes cooking,combined with the Kano questionnaire and data processing formula,analyze the needs attributes and importance ranking.Next,NFBS model was combined to carry out "Needs-Function" mapping,functional analysis,anticipate behavior assumption,and conduct structural design analysis,so as to get the final design positioning:the design concept of "steaming three meals one soup at a time" for the new middle class.Finally,the system design scheme including the body design of the steam oven product,the operation interface design and the mobile phone application function was completed,andthe satisfaction evaluation of designers,engineers,enterprise representatives and new middle class users was passed to confirm the realization value of the product system scheme.The FBS model is improved into NFBS model,which provides an important reference for kitchen appliance enterprises to find innovative product opportunities in the current market environment,and also plays a certain role in the design of other traditional household appliances.Studying the needs of the new middle class for steamed dishes and cooking can lead to a new understanding of the new middle class in the field of design.
