A Study On The Disclosure Of Environmental Accounting Information In China’s Pharmaceutical Industry

In recent years,a series of problems caused by environmental pollution not only restrict the development of national economy,but also seriously affect people’s normal life.Therefore,in order to prevent the secondary environmental pollution caused by the production of enterprises and the treatment and discharge of pollutants,a series of laws and regulations on production and pollutant treatment and discharge have been formulated by the relevant departments of our country in recent years,so as to protect the ecological environment as much as possible.As one of the heavy pollution industries in China,the toxic and harmful substances produced by the pharmaceutical industry,if not treated,will seriously pollute the ecological environment and harm human health.Therefore,the paper selects the pharmaceutical industry as the research object.On the one hand,it makes the enterprise stakeholders pay attention to the environmental protection issues and strengthen the public supervision;on the other hand,it makes the pharmaceutical enterprises improve their environmental awareness and enhance their initiative of environmental accounting information disclosure.First of all,the paper discusses the background and significance of the relevant research,expounds the domestic and foreign literature and its views.According to the relevant concepts of environmental accounting on information disclosure,the paper expounds the concepts of sustainable development,information asymmetry and principal-agent theory.Thirdly,by consulting the annual reports,social responsibility reports and environmental reports of 50 listed companies in the medical and pharmaceutical industry from 2014 to 2018,we can understand the current situation of environmental accounting information disclosure in the medical and pharmaceutical industry,find out the existing problems in the legislative status,disclosure proportion,disclosure content and disclosure form,and analyze the reasons for the problems.After that,Xinhua Pharmaceutical was selected as a case to analyze its environmental accounting information disclosure in 2015-2018,mainly from three aspects of environmental accounting information disclosure mode,content and quality to explore the existing problems,and from the internal and external aspects to analyze the causes of the problems.Finally,from the internal and external point of view of the medical and pharmaceutical industry,the corresponding countermeasures are put forward;the external suggestions are mainly to improve the environmental accounting information disclosure system,standardize the way and content of environmental accounting information disclosure,strengthen the joint supervision of relevant departments and other measures.The purpose of this paper is to take Xinhua Pharmaceutical as an example to analyze the problems of environmental accounting information disclosure in China’s medical and pharmaceutical industry,and then analyze the problems and put forward relevant suggestions and strategies.
