Electronic-glass?E-glass?filament is spun by drawing the molten glass ball or waste glass at high temperature with its monofilament diameter ranging from 3 mm to 9 mm,each bundled strand is composed of hundreds of filaments.With the progress of science and technology and the rapid development of electronic information technology,E-glass fiber is used in almost all electronic components.Nowadays,electronic products are gradually developing towards lighter and thinner,requiring E-filament yarns to be thinner and fibers to be more evenly distributed.Therefore,the glass fiber used for textile processing will be coated with textile size on its surface in the process of wire drawing,which will protect,cluster and antistatic the glass filament yarn after drying.In order to evaluate the sizing effect of textile size agent on E-glass filament yarn and give its evaluation criteria,this subject extracted and analyzed the cross-sectional profile and fiber parameters of the E-glass filament yarn coated with textile sizing agent based on the method of image analysis.First,use a laser fiberscope to observe and obtaine high-definition cross-sectional images of electronic fiberglass yarn.With the help of Image-Pro plus image analysis software,extract the fiber diameter,area and center point coordinates and other parameter information in the cross section of E-glass filament yarn,this method has the advantages of simple sample preparation process,easy image acquisition and accurate parameter extraction.In the analysis of the strand integrity and the performance of belt-forming of sized E-glass filament yarn,the evaluated indexes include number of groups,rate of fibers in groups?%?,rate of fiber filling?RF??%?and theoretical relative average fiber distance?TRAFD?,ratio of length and width,cv of geometric thickness?%?,theoretical thickness of fiber layer(Ttfl),cv of fibers?%?.Combined with the evaluation index,the strand integrity and the performance of belt-forming of E-glass filament yarn samples coated with textile size were evaluated.The evaluation results are sorted by grades,and it is found that the results are basically consistent with the conclusions obtained by observing the cross-section image of the yarn,which proves the feasibility of the evaluation index.Based on the evaluation results,the preliminary evaluation criteria for the degree of the strand integrity and the performance of belt-forming in the E-glass filament yarn are given.The evaluation results of the strand integrity and the performance of belt-forming in the E-glass filament yarn are divided into three grades,which increases the flexibility of the evaluation of the strand integrity and the performance of belt-forming in the E-glass filament yarn,and also plays a good reference role in improving the quality of the sizing agent.The thickness of the film formed by the textile size on the glass fiber was measured by the longitudinal method and the transverse method,and found that the results measured by the two measurement methods are consistent.The thickness of the film formed by the sizing agent on the surface of the glass fiber is extremely thin,within 0.2?m.By observing the SEM image of the longitudinal section of the fiber in the glass fiber,it is found that the film formed by the sizing agent on the surface of the glass fiber is not uniform and continuous,accompanied by small particles,nodules or even raised shells.
