In order to enhance the transition metal ions in the process of phenolic resin pyrolytic carbon catalytic graphitization effect and in the preparation of low cost,simple process,low structural integrity,low metal doped graphene structure,copper ions is easy to form complexes,copper ion was combined in structure of phenolic resin by chemical reaction to get Cu modified phenolic resin.Through FT-IR and UV spectrum analysis,the six coordinated structures of copper ion in PF were ensured,consisting of the oxygen of phenol hydroxyl,the nitrogen of imino group and the oxygen of iminodiacetic acid(single tooth coordinate).The optimal conditions for PF modified Cu by the single factor experiment: the formaldehyde/phenol was 0.84,the iminodiacetic acid/phenol was 0.03,the Cu SO4/phenol was 0.03,the chelation temperature and time were 60? and 40 min.The thermogravimetric analysis showed that the residual carbon value of copper modified phenolic resin was 16% higher than that of ordinary phenolic resin.The pyrolytic carbon was characterized by XRD,SEM and Raman spectroscopy.The results show that: The structure of graphene was prepared by carbonization of 3h at 1000?;When the copper content was too low,the graphene has more defects and less content,too much for the amount of copper made the inorganic salt deposition of copper into the bottom of the resin catalyst caused by dispersion,comprehensive consideration of copper and phenol molar ratio of 0.03 for the optimal,preparation of graphene structure not only relatively complete but also content was high.Adding ordinary PF powder and Cu modified PF powder in magnesia carbon brick,the magnesia carbon brick of Cu modified PF can be concluded that line rate,quality rate,show porosity decrease was reduced,the oxidation resistance significantly enhanced,improved the performance of magnesium carbon brick.
