With the rapid development of industry and the rapid development of the economy,the economic development model relying on high consumption of non-renewable energy has made environmental pollution and rising energy consumption issues of concern.At the same time,improving the efficiency of energy use is considered an important means to achieve the goal of sustainable economic development.It is of great research significance and practical application prospect to continuously improve the energy efficiency of production equipment and industry in the industrial field.Complex chemical production data usually contains noise.The ethylene industry and the purified terephthalic acid(PTA)industry are indispensable and important roles in the complex chemical industry,and they inevitably have the same problems in the production process.Therefore,the energy efficiency evaluation of the ethylene industry and the PTA industry to find out the direction and potential of energy saving has important research significance and practical application significance.This article explains the advantages of data envelopment analysis(DEA)by studying the basic theory of energy efficiency evaluation and comparing the related methods.Therefore,based on DEA,we further studied the energy efficiency evaluation methods applicable to complex chemical industries.They were applied to the actual production data of the ethylene industry and the PTA industry,respectively,which verified the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed method,and proposed production improvements to provide guidance for energy efficiency improvement.The main research contents of this article are as follows:1.In view of the fact that traditional DEA has a limited degree of distinction in decision making unit(DMU)in practical applications,it is often only possible to distinguish between effective DMUs and ineffective DMUs.This paper proposes a DEA energy efficiency evaluation method combining cosine similarity(CS),which is recorded as DEA-CS.Similarity is often used for multi-attribute evaluation of similar units.CS is a kind of similarity.It is often used to calculate the similarity value between space vectors,which is essentially a multi-attribute evaluation method.It can effectively evaluate the similarity of DMU.Considering the convergence effect of effective DMUs on the frontier of production,a similarity ranking is established among effective DMUs to find an energy efficiency benchmark for production data.Finally,the proposed method is applied to the production data of ethylene production plant for energy efficiency evaluation,which verifies the effectiveness of the proposed method,provides guidance for the improvement of ethylene production,and achieves the goals of increasing production capacity and reducing energy consumption.2.Aiming at the negative impact that the noise of the energy efficiency evaluation object may have when using DEA for energy efficiency evaluation,and the noise problem that does exist in the actual production data of the complex chemical industry.This paper proposes a DEA cross model(DEACM)energy efficiency evaluation method that integrates affinity propagation(AP),which is record as AP-DEACM.AP can remove the redundant information and noise of data,reduce the objectivity of production data,obtain data with higher impact on energy efficiency,and introduce the improved DEACM method of cross-evaluation mechanism to obtain the efficiency value ranking of all DMUs.Compared with DEA-CS,AP-DEACM differs in that it not only overcomes the influence of noise,but also has a wider range of applications.Finally,the proposed method is applied to the production data of PTA production plant for energy efficiency evaluation,to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method,and to provide guidance for reducing energy consumption in the PTA production process.This article aims at the limited discrimination of decision units in traditional DEA in practical applications and the negative impact of noise on DEA evaluation results,DEA-CS and AP-DEACM are proposed respectively.The two methods are respectively applied to ethylene production plant and PTA production plant.The experimental results prove that these two methods are helpful to find the direction of production improvement and improve the energy efficiency of production.At the same time,the methods proposed in this paper have reference significance and practical value for other complex petrochemical production.
