Screening Of Anti-acne Herb And Its Application In The Treatment Of Acne

In this work,based on the effect of bacteriostasis and enzyme inhibition selected Scutellaria Baicalensis,Salvia miltiorrhiza and Forsythia from the Chinese herbs,then as functional ingredients for cosmetics.The minimum inhibitory concentrations(MIC,%,w/w)of these herbs on P.acnes are 1.25%,5.00%,5.00%and on S.aureus are 0.781%,2.50%,0.625%respectively.At a concentration of 5 mg/mL the inhibition rate of compound on 5α-reductase is 28.6%,19.8%,20.5%respectively.But the MIC of chinese herbal medicine compound on P.acnes and S.aureus are 0.313%and 0.313%,respectively.And at 5 mg/mL the inhibition rate of compound on 5α-reductase is 46.5%.This shows the herbal compound has better inhibition effect on the main pathogens of acne(P.acnes,S.aureus)and 5α-reductase.And the MIC of the this compound on the skin probiotic lactobacillus>5%,indicating that the herbal compound is beneficial to the microecological balance of acne skin.The anti-acne gel was prepared using the 5.00%herbal compound according to the effective amount and stabilityand.Randomly recruited 23 acne patients for a 4-week clinical evaluation to investigate its application effect.Test results show with 95.65%of the subjects had acne relief.Compared with before,the index of porphyrin value,acne quantity and oil content on the skin surface showed a downward trend,and the moisture content on the skin surface showed an upward trend.
