Research On IP-Derived Jewelry Design

“IP” is short for “Intellectual Property”,and it can be literally translated to ownership of knowledge.Nowadays,the copyright value of IP is play an increasingly important role in business competition,and meanwhile,people have shifted their attention on copyright from its legal attribute to its derived economic value.With the increasingly prominent value of intellectual property and the concept of “Internet +” being promoted to the national development strategy,IP enjoys a rising status in the cultural industry.The economic and cultural value of IP being a copyright product in the continuous derivation and propagation process as well as its application in jewelry are explored.There are few materials for the research of jewelry derivatives.Based on the movie peripheral industry with mature IP development,this paper targets at exploring the future development of IP derivative jewelry.Compared with the mature and active American film derivative market as well as the Japanese derivative market represented by animation industry,the derivative practices in China lag seriously behind with unsystematic studies.Currently,IP has a wide variety.In order to explore the IP derivative jewelry,it is needed to start with IP and jewelry.Compared with general derivatives,jewelry is characteristic by high unit price and small volume,therefore,it is necessary to pay more attention to the decoration attribute brought from the formal beauty of jewelry when fitting IP in content.In the process of designing and developing IP derivative jewelry,from screening suitable IP to the extraction method of IP element,the derivative jewelry should orientate at multiple materials,categories and styles,lay emphasis on design and interestingness.Based on collecting a large number of literatures,this paper provides solid and systematic theoretical basis for research.Based on analyzing the history and cases of IP derivative,comparing the difference between Chinese and overseas derivative markets and referring to excellent experience,the IP application in jewelry design is discussed.On the basis of analyzing the domestic and overseas jewelry derivative development and operation cases,the IP derivative industry chain and marketing means are explored,the positioning and modeling of current IP derivative jewelry are analyzed,and corresponding experience is summarized.Through deep research of the IP derivative cases,the design method and future trend of current IP derivative are summarized,and corresponding design strategy is also proposed so as to provide reference for future design and development.
