At recent,it is an indisputable fact that the surface temperature continues to rise, and subtle changes in temperature can even cause the melting of glaciers. It is also an terrible fact that there will be worries about the rising of the sea level, and the invasion of seawater in coastal areas, all of these might cause extreme weather, etc(Benson et al,2008;Metz et al,2005).Whether the government or the people, the officials or ordinary people, even from professional practitioners to primary school students, should be familiar with the words of climate warming. Therefore, every inhabitant on the earth has the obligation to protect the environment of his homeland. It's need invest time and effort from all countries to control the continuous rising of temperature effectively, and it offers a challenging research topic for scholars. The IPCC report has made it clear that the basic causes of climate change are human activities. The Paris Agreement has made the specific requirements for states parties,it is strive to keep the average temperature rising at a suitable rate which can sustain the safe survival of the global population. As a maj or country,The Chinese government attaches great importance to carbon emission reduction and has set corresponding targets and worked hard for it.Recently, there's many researches and practices related to CO2 geological storage technology have carried out by relevant organizations and scholars of various countries.Supported by geological survey projects, this paper has evaluated the potential and suitability of CGUS in Junggar Basin, which providing support for the CCUS evaluation of maj or sedimentary basins in China. This paper had collected the systematic geological data of junggar basin, including the data of basic geologic, petroleum geology, deep hydrogeololgy,by analyzing the geology conditions of CCUS areas, selecting the optimal evaluation methods, the potential and suitability of CO2 geological storage has been carried out.Make the following conclusions:1.There are abundant resources of natural gas, coal bed gas, shale gas in junggar basin, which providing a good foundation for the CO2 geological utilization technology and demonstration project.2.based on GIS multi-source information superposition assessment technology,In this paper, the suitability of CO2 geological storage in deep saline aquifer of Junggar basin was evaluated and the results showed that most areas in the basin are suitable for CO2 geological storage3.Potential assessment shows that the theoretical estimated reserves of CO2 geological utilization in Jnggar basin are 1048.86×108t.the reservoir stratum includes petroleum and natural gas fields, coalbed methane fields, natural gas fields and deep saline aquifer.Among them, the potential of CO2 geological storage in deep saline aquifer is maximized, with the expected value of 960.55×108t.Others is relatively small, for example, the potential of CO2-EOR is 1.48×108t,and that of Depleted oilfields is 13.45×108t.
