β-amino alcohol is an important material structure, which is found in many important intermediates. It is widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, biological and other industries. Its structure containing nitrogen and oxygen atoms makes it have a high frequency of use in structural chiral and asymmetric synthesis. The existing methods for synthesizing β-amino alcohols include high temperature epoxy ring opening, esterification reduction, high pressure hydrogenation reduction acid, etc.which often utilize expensive metal catalysts, higher temperatures, and more stringent conditions, and lead to the production of by-products,these synthetic pathways are in conflict with the development trend of green chemistry. Therefore, using a simple method, the synthesis is rich in variety, the yield is also ideal, and the method of not using a large amount of organic solvent in the synthesis process and not causing excessive side reactions is our research direction. We put the breakthrough point on the Petasis reaction. As a kind of MCR reaction, these reagent combinations usually show high reactivity, environmental friendliness and high product selectivity. We use microwave irradiation(MWI)as the heating condition to synthesize P-amino alcohol through Petasis reaction.Compared with the traditional method, this technology has the advantages of shorter reaction time, higher reaction efficiency and heat of product. The amount of decomposition is smaller. Moreover,we found that the yield of the final product is due to the electron donating ability of the functional group carried by the reactant, and the stronger the electron donating ability, the higher the yield.
