With the increasing awareness of environmental protection,International Maritime Organization(IMO)has issued a series of regulations and measures and published four technical circulations,including the Energy Efficiency Operating Index(EEOI),to regulate the emission of greenhouse gases from ships.At the same time,due to the downturn of shipping market in recent years,reducing the fuel cost,which accounts for a large proportion in the operating cost of ships,has become a magic weapon for shipping enterprises to win.Energy conservation and emissions reduction have been a consensus in the shipping industry.Reducing fuel consumption and operating costs has become the top priority in shipping management.As a special case of ships,Floating Storage and Offloading(FSO)modified by Very Large Crude Carrier(VLCC).People have few measures and experience in energy saving management.With the gradual implementation of new laws and regulations and new standards,more and more VLCC have been modified FSO.The energy-saving management of FSO has also attracted people’s attention.But EEOI is only suit for sailing ship.It takes the converted FSO-"NEW GLOBAL" as the management object and analyzes its energy efficiency.The main work is reflected as following:(1)According to the operation characteristics of FSO,a FSO energy efficiency evaluation method in line with FSO energy efficiency operating index is proposed.(2)Based on efficiency evaluation method of FSO,The energy efficiency of the target ship "NEW GLOBAL" is analyzed and an effective energy efficiency management method is given.Experiments were carried out on "NEW GLOBAL" ship.As the main equipment of energy consumption in FSO,the boiler’ energy efficiency management has been focused on.When other conditions remain unchanged,the oil pressure of boiler fuel is adjusted from 20kg/cm2 to 11kg/cm2,and the motor power is reduced by 2.3kw,effectively reducing the loss of power.While the oil pressure of the boiler nozzle is kept at 3.5kg/cm2,the atomized steam pressure is adjusted from 5kg/cm2 to 5.5kg/cm2,which can save 480kg of fuel every day.Remain the steam pressure unchanged,the oil pressure is reduced from 4.2kg/cm2 to 3.6kg/cm2,saving 2880kg of fuel per day.FSO all around the cargo oil pump in operation,on the cargo pump prime mover-turbine efficiency,middle connection part of the transmission loss,as well as the working condition of centrifugal pump and so on management measures,the analysis of energy saving effect.(3)Under the same working condition,EEOIFSO of "NEW GLOBAL" after applying energy efficiency management were compared with EEOI without using energy efficiency management,According to the data,after the energy efficiency management of the "NEW GLOBAL" ship,the energy efficiency operating index of the ship decreased significantly.From 8.25×10-3(December 2018)and 6.87×10-3(January 2019)to 4.39×10-3(March 2019)and 5.21 ×10-3(March 2019),the effectiveness of FSO energy efficiency assessment method for energy efficiency management has been verified with actual data.,Fuel consumption for boiler to discharge a ton of cargo is 1/3 less than before.The effectiveness of FSO energy efficiency evaluation method for energy efficiency management was verified by the actual data.
