Using air as a drilling medium,air drilling can greatly improve the penetration rate and speed up the progress of drilling engineering.However,current pre-drilling risk prediction for air drilling is mainly based on formation data and practical drilling data of adjacent wells,which mainly depends on the evaluation of wellbore stability,the method is relatively simple.Although the risk of air drilling has been studied at home and abroad,the research is mainly focused on outflow of formation water,formation air production and wellbore instability,lacking effective integration of comprehensive information(large amount of historical data)in drilling area.During the actual drilling process,the judgment of the complicated downhole working conditions mainly depends on the observation and listening of the operators,and the monitoring of the returning fluid,which has strong subjectivity and lagging behind,but lack of the quantitative judgement and objective analysis of symptoms before the event,and has no warning function.In the process of the expansion of air drilling technology,it is necessary to establish a set of air drilling while drilling safety monitoring technology for real-time monitoring and early warning of complex downhole conditions,integrating pre-drilling risk prediction and early warning recognition of complicated working conditions while drilling.To this end,this paper mainly carried out the following research:Study on downhole risk of air drilling.This paper makes an in-depth analysis of the mechanism of downhole risk in air drilling,focusing on revealing the causes of downhole risk in air drilling,characterization parameters and the internal relationship between them.Establishment of downhole risk early warning model for air drilling.It includes the establishment of a model for predicting the calculation of sample parameters and the establishment of an early warning model for complex conditions.Development of safety monitoring software for air drilling while drilling.Combined with air drilling risk characterization parameters response characteristics,this paper develops a software for monitoring while drilling in air medium,which can most prevent and monitor downhole air drilling risk through collecting air drilling downhole risk data collection and safety warning.Finally,through the monitoring and early warning model for downhole drilling safety in air drilling,this paper has preliminarily developed a air drilling expert analysis system and the monitoring software for abnormal condition based on artificial neural network have been successfully applied in the field.The research of air drilling safety monitoring technology have a great significance for improving the safety factor of air drilling operation,which will effectively enrich air drilling safety early warning monitoring means and worthy of further popularization and application.
