With the development of liquid crystal displays(LCD),more and more waste chemicals are produced in the LCD manufacturing industry.Waste thinner and waste stripper are typical waste chemicals in the LCD manufacturing industry.Therefore,it is very important for TFT-LCD manufacturers to reduce the production-related costs and protect the environment from industrial waste.From the viewpoint of the cost-control and environmental issues,value-added component recycling from waste solvent such as waste thinner is urgent necessary and of great significance by means of some efficient technologies.To recovery the value-added component from waste thinner as electric grade chemicals,the possible processes for treating the waste thinner of TFT-LCD plants are investigated firstly by comparing the experimental data with the simulation results.Then,different processes are considered to optimize the processes including properties of chemicals in different temperature and pressure,and adaptive of materials using in the equipment.Finally,selection of the equipment,design of the process,the effect of the utility,HSE(health,safety,and environment)of the process,capital cost,and economic analysis are considered from the viewpoint of the industrialization for the determined process.By this work,the feasible process for recovery the value-added component as electric grade chemicals from waste thinner of LCD manufactures is obtained.The industrialization of the provided process is considered.By this process,the hazardous waste chemicals can be handled effectively.
