Biomass energy is a sort of reproducible resources,due to its large reserves in nature,renewable and other merits have attracted wide attention.Photocatalytic fuel cell technology combines fuel cell and photocatalytic technology,using sunlight to oxidize biomass and continuously generates batteries.It is an ideal energy conversion technology and has aroused wide concern among scientists in recent years.However,the photocatalytic fuel cell is in its initial stage,which requires further exploration and research to optimize the structure and performance of the battery.The Mixed Metal Oxide(MMO),which obtained by high-temperature roasting NiAl LDHs and NiFe LDHs,is used as the photoanode material.It not only introduces hydrotalcite into the photo fuel cell field successfully,but also achieves a good photocatalytic effect.The work can be summarized as the following two points:(1)we report a unassisted PEC system that uses light,biomass and oxygen to simultaneously produce electricity without applied bias,we created TiO2 modified NiAl MMO(denoted as TiO2/NiAl MMO)as photoanode,Pt as cathode.We use methanol as a biomass model to study the effects of TiO2 morphology,nickel-aluminum ratio and the roasting temperature of the hydrotalcite on the photocatalytic activity.when using mesoporous TiO2/4-NiAl MMO as photoanode,and the Ise was 2.2 times higher than mesoporous TiO2/NiO as photoande,and the Voc of which was 0.27 V moved negatively.Moreover,the photocatalytic properties of fructose,sucrose and carboxymethyl cellulose were extended to obtain the relationship between biomass conversion capacity and biomass molecular weight.(2)An efficient visible light-enhanced TiO2/NiFe MMO-C fuel cell has been successfully designed and fabricated.We studied the influence of the Nickel-iron ratio and roasting temperature on the photocatalytic performance by using methanol as the model.Porous carbon electrode was used to replace noble metal Pt,and a photocatalytic fuel cell system with non-noble metal cathode was constructed.The cathode reaction was more inclined to oxygen reduction to generate H2O2 and we extend to glucose,fructose,glucan and other biomass system.The photogeneration current reached 1249 μA/cm2,and the concentration of H2O2 reached 0.44 mM at 180min.when the methanol was used as the photocatalytic fuel.
