Log scaling is one of the key links in the process of import and export of logs.At this stage,most countries and regions still use manual log scaling.The results of manual iog scaling are susceptible to the subjective factors of the environment and inspectors,and the measurement accuracy is low.At the same time,the current original wood product calculation formula does not consider the difference of the taper of the needle logs and broadleaf logs,the difference of the log shape and the error of the log diameter step,so that there is a big error between the calculated volume and the real volume.It is difficult to meet the requirements of the current log import and export trade and log transportation.Therefore,it is necessary to research and develop a widely representative calculation method of the log volume error to meet the requirements import and export trade and log transportation.Based on the existing research,this paper focuses on the calculation error of the log.According to the nature of error,the calculation error of the log is divided into two parts:systematic error and random error.The systematic error calculation is based on the analytical method to establish the mathematical model of the log shape,and the log volume is obtained as the actual volume of the log by using the integral of the Kunze curve equation.the measurement error in the random error is mainly based on the error propagation law and the single measurement error theory in probability statistics,and the log measurement error is quantitatively calculated;In the past,the error correction method was adopted,and the uniform distribution variance was used instead of the single measurement variance to calculate the diameter step correction error.Through the study of the systematic error size and error properties of the approximate approximation method of logs,the results show that the central area approximation method and the average cross-section approximation method systematic error mean the negative error,and the leading factor of the error factor is the log dry shape index.By studying the random error of the log,the results show that when the length error rate is equal to the diameter error rate,the influence of the diameter measurement error on the volume calculation is twice as large as the length measurement error.
