Electrorheological fluids?ERF?are a class of typical intelligent soft materials whose rheological properties include shear stress,dynamic modulus and shear viscosity can undergo reversible liquid-solid transition by regulating the external electric field,and the response time is in the order of milliseconds.An electrorheological fluid is a suspension consisting of dispersing polarizable dielectric particles ranging in size from nanometers to micrometers into insulating oil.This controllable and reversible phase change of electrorheological fluids has potential applications in a range of engineering fields.In this paper,the titania microspheres with different morphologies were designed from the perspective of morphology design.The influence of the change of the morphology of titanium dioxide on the electrorheological properties was studied.The silanized ionic liquid IL-CPTES was passed through the titanium dioxide as the matrix.The covalent bond is connected to the titanium dioxide to prepare a hybrid material of titanium dioxide/ionic liquid,and the electrorheological effect of the titanium dioxide and ionic liquid hybrid materials is studied.Finally,different amounts of ionic liquids are prepared by changing the amount of the added silylated ionic liquid IL-CPTES.Titanium dioxide/ionic liquid hybrid materials is prepared and explored the effect of ionic liquid content on electrorheological effects.?1?The urchin-like mesoporous TiO2 spheres?UMTS?were prepared by self-organization of the amorphous TiO2 microspheres during the low-temperature hydrothermal reaction by a two-step method.The SEM and TEM results showed that the UMTS has the same shape as the sea-urchin structure,the surface is rougher,and the UMTS electrorheological effect is enhanced by the fact that the surface contains a large number of fibrous nano-thorns;?2?The TiO2 microspheres were prepared by sol-gel method,and the silanized ionic liquid?IL-CPTES?was hydrolyzed and co-condensed with the titania precursor TTIP by one-step method to prepare titanium dioxide/ionic liquid hybrid materials.SEM,TEM,FT-IR and TG can all indicate that the silanized ionic liquid is successfully connected to the surface of titanium dioxide.At the same time,the yield stress of electrorheological fluid of 20vol%0.5IL-TiO2 is 1646 Pa under the electric field of 4 kV/mm,which is 4.6 times that of TiO2;?3?The titania/ionic liquid hybrid material was synthesized by one-step method through changing the amount of silanized ionic liquid in sol-gel method,and the electrorheological effect was studied.The 0.5IL-TiO2 with a volume fraction of 10%showed good performance.
