In recent years,the rapid growth of motor vehicles has made urban traffic congestion increasingly serious.At the same time,vehicle exhaust emission is becoming one of the city's largest sources of pollution,also smog weather has seriously affected people's lives and health.The straight-waiting area has become a common means of transportation to solve the congestion at signalized intersection.However,vehicles entering the straight-waiting area will undoubtedly increase starts and stops,thus increasing the exhaust emission.This paper will study straight-waiting area from the aspects of PM2.5 emission and traffic efficiency,so that it can play its maximum utility reasonably.Firstly,this paper theoretically analyzes the principle of setting straight-waiting area,setting principle,setting length and traffic organization method after setting the waiting area.Then comparing a large number of traffic simulation models and emission models,we select VISSIM and MOVES as the simulation models.Through the field research and data analysis,the simulation model is established and localized with straight-waiting area for the experimental intersection,then the influence of the straight-waiting area setting on the adjacent left-turn lane was analyzed.We concluded that it has a certain impact on the adjacent left-turning vehicles,so it is necessary to carefully consider setting the straight-waiting area.we study the several situations with the model,the setting conditions of straight-waiting area,the signal timing scheme after the straight-waiting area is set,and the optimization of signal control,by analyzing the traffic indicators and PM2.5 emission,finally we get the conclusion: the best range for setting up a straight-waiting area is when the straight lane saturation is greater than 0.5,in which case,vehicle delay and emission is lower than not setting the straight-waiting area;when setting the straight-waiting area,if the green light interval increases,appropriate signal timing scheme can make the three indicators of PM2.5 emission,vehicle delay and number of stops all the best;After setting the straight-waiting area,by optimizing the signal of the straight-waiting area so that the first vehicle in the queue passes through the intersection without stops,the vehicle delay and discharge will be further reduced.Under the background of considering traffic and environment,this paper has practical significance for further guiding on setting and optimization of straight-waiting area.
