The Research On Subsea Automatic Pig Launcher

As a launching system of single submarine pipelines,the subsea pig launcher occupies an important role in the overall subsea pigging operation.Foreign pig launcher has matured,however,domestic research on this field is still in this infancy,so it is important to design a pig launcher which is suitable for the submarine pipelines pigging.This paper takes the CNOOC 18-inch submarine pipelines pigging for a case study,mainly completes the following aspects: designing the connecting unit and launching unit of pig launcher according to the principle and process of subsea pig launcher.this paper finishes the detailed design calculation and checks important parts of connecting unit according to relevant standards.This paper designs a quick opening blind plate and optimizes thickness of the head over according to correlation theory.By studying the means of marine anti-corrosion,this paper designs the corresponding anti-corrosion protection measures for pig launcher to ensure meeting the request of life.Then,this paper selects hydraulic cylinder,hose and flange to follow design requirements.Finally,this paper designs hydraulic system and completes selection of components for the launching unit and usesAMEsim software to model and completes simulation analysis.This paper has certain reference significance for accomplishing submarine pipeline pigging operation of subsea pig launcher and promoting the development of domestic subsea pigging technology.
