In the mold field,in order to improve the output of parts and reduce the manufacturing cost of single-cavity mold,two methods have been developed in recent years to replace single-cavity mold with domestic mold and laminated mold,but both of them have their own shortcomings.Tandem molding technology is developed on the basis of domestic molds and laminated molds.It is generally considered as a simple and practical way to improve production efficiency.Its core technology is to improve productivity by using idle time(cooling time)in injection molding cycle.Tandem molding technology solves the high quality and efficient molding scheme of assembly components,and it is especially suitable for the production of technical components with certain wall thickness,production cycle of more than 10 seconds,same material,similar size or pair combination.More and more mold manufacturers in China have been in this field and have solved a series of difficult problems of tandem molding technology by constantly innovating and transforming on the basis of the original mold technology.The cooling time of products in mold A to complete the injection molding of products in mold B is used in tandem molding technology.Alternate circulation can maximize the use efficiency of the equipment.The forming cycle time of tandem molding is similar as ordinary molding,but the idle time of screw of injection molding machine is shortened greatly.In this paper,several key technologies of tandem molding technology were studied,including the study of formwork structure,casting system and structure of T lock.The mold base of T mold is mainly composed of fixed mold plate,intermediate moving f mold plate,rear moving plate and back moving mold plate and it has two parting surfaces.The hot runner system of T mold adopts needle valve hot runner system with piecewise connection.In this paper,the timing design and efficiency analysis of tandem molding was carried out.The analysis showed that the production efficiency of tandem molding was between 100%and 200%,which was related to idle time of injection molding machine.In this paper,PP storage box was taken as the research object,and an example analysis was carried out on the tandem molding technology,including the design of the mold base structure,the design of the T mold pouring system,and the structural design of the T-lock.The maximum injection pressure and the clamping force have been calculated and checked.The opening stroke has been calculated?The maximum injection pressure of the part is 45 MPa,the clamping force is 161.3t and the opening stroke is 228 mm.In this paper,a simulation analysis has been carried out on the injection molding formula ofPP storage box.The lid is not injected at the same time as the body.Different injection parameters can be set to the processing of lid and the body and the analysis is the same as that of ordinary products.According to the preliminary analysis,the t-shaped products can meet the use requirements.Under the same molding conditions,T mold can save the investment of equipment and molds,especially suitable for pair combination or similar size parts molding.
