The Application Of DOE In US Baseball Bat Design In R Company

How can we design a good baseball bat which can increase the distance and precisoin when players hitting the baseball? Currently based on the modern industrial technology,baseball bats are designed better and better,the bat performance is much better than the original bat which is made of wood material.Because of the better bat designs,the home runs starts to more frequently than before.In baseball game it's easier for attacker to gain score and in another word it's not fair for defend side.US baseball association noticed this issue and starts to set a new restrict BBCOR on baseball bat,which is based on wood bat performance.In the new BBCOR request,the BBCOR value for all baseball bat should be no more than 0.530,if any baseball bats failed for this request,this baseball is not allowed to be used in baseball game.0.530 is calculated based on the BBCOR equation which will be discussed in this study,the basic principal is to restrict the elasticity to get the value.This study has a brief introduction for new baseball bat BBCOR request and pioints out all current baseball bat can't hit this new request and can't be used in the baseball game(before 2017),so we all need to design a new baseball bats to hit this new request.In the next this study has a introduction for the 5 main factor for baseball bat design and how these 5 main factor affect baseball bat performance.The following of this study is how to make use of DOE to design a serial test to identify which factor is the key factor from the 5 main to affect BBCOR value.After identifying the key factors,use the DOE of full factor method to design a serial test and find out how the key factors affect the BBCOR value based on ANOVA analysis and finally get the equation for BBCOR value,then get the best setting for the key factors based on the equation and repeat the test to double confirm this best setting.The final is collect the test information in field test and set the new request for next gerneration baseball bat and will continue the reseach and development for baseball bat.
