Pilots play an important role in ensuring the safe operation of civil aviation, and their performance is closely related to aviation safety.Accident statistics show that the approach phase is a frequent stage of flight accidents. The main cause of the accident is the human error of the pilot, and one of the important reasons for pilots' human errors is that they can not obtain effective information from a large amount of information in a timely and efficient manner to make judgments and decisions.Vision is the most important channel for pilots to obtain information. The efficiency of visual behavior is directly related to whether the pilot can make decisions and operational actions accurately and timely. Therefore, the study of pilots' eye movent behavior is carried out during the instrument approach flight.Analyzing their cognitive processing behavior and exploring a reasonable and effcient eye movement mode, which is essential for the training of pilots' eye movement mode and the improvement of performance during their training period. In this study,a instrument approach test was designed and their eye movement data and flight data were collected.By using the flight data to redivide the subjects into two groups for good and poor and by combining the paramenters from video playback to divide the approach segment.Taking performance as the control variable, the difference of eye movement data between the two groups was compared and analyzed in each segment, and the correlation between eye movement pattern and performance was verified. And Taking the flight segment as the control variable, the eye movement data of the same group of subjects in different flight segments were compared,to explore the effects of different flight segments on the subjects' eye movement behavior. The conclusions of this study are as follows:1.Compared with the poor performance group of subjects, the AOI fixation time ratio of good performance group of subjects on attitude direction indicator(B)and heading indicator(E)decreased significantly in each segment,on airspeed indicator(A),altitude indicator(C),and vertical speed indicator(D)increased significantly, and the average fixation duration in each interest area decreased significantly, saccadic velocity, saccade size and fixation entropy rate increased significantly.2.Compared with the initial approach segment, the AOI fixation time ratio of two group of subjects on attitude direction indicator(B)and heading indicator(E)decreased significantly in final approach segment,on altitude indicator(A)and vertical speed indicator(D)increased significantly, and the average fixation duration in each interest area decreased significantly, saccadic velocity, saccade size and fixation entropy rate increased significantly.3.It is suggested that student pilots should pay more attention to improving the flexibility of shifts in points of view in the initial approach segment, avoid confining too much sight to some instruments. And they should pay more attention to improving the efficiency of information search in the final approach segment and obtain flight information in a as far as possible sacn range.
